KISS-Pro - Artificial Intelligence in Speech and Writing - Professionalisation concepts and perspectives for the use of AI-based feedback systems and writing agents for language learning in schools
The aim of the alliance of four universities and research institutions is to develop and test concepts for professionalising teachers in the competent use of AI-based systems in language teaching. In addition to the potential of AI to promote learning, the qualification programmes also focus on in-depth reflection on the ethical, legal and social implications of using AI-supported systems in the school context. At the University of Potsdam's Department of Inclusive Education with the focus on language, the focus of the project work is on developing and testing target group-specific information and qualification programmes which, in addition to providing knowledge about the opportunities and potential of AI-based systems, also address fears and reservations as well as concrete, factual limits and problems of using AI in the school context. Furthermore, possible applications of intelligent tutorial systems and social robots will be highlighted, especially for language learning in the school context.
