Reading with digital media - Promoting reading with children's books, children's book apps (2019-2024)
The ‘Reading with digital media’ project (2019-2024) makes it possible to combine digital and traditional print media in an educationally meaningful way in a practical setting and to test their combined use. This includes the didactic preparation of combined use with the aim of enabling differentiation and individualisation in inclusive reading and literature lessons. On the digital side, the use of children's book apps together with corresponding analogue children's books has already been successfully implemented on several occasions.
The innovative teaching project described above will be implemented as part of the seminar ‘Prevention and intervention programmes to promote linguistic and communicative development’. The students participating in the teaching project develop ideas for reading projects or individual support programmes in a cooperative manner and under intensive supervision and implement them at a primary school in Brandenburg or Berlin. In doing so, the students gain valuable experience in school practice, receive continuous feedback from the lecturers and experience for themselves the media didactic possibilities and limits of the combined use of analogue and digital media.
