UNIcert® II/2 – English for Law

Course designed specifically for law students to improve their language skills in legal contexts,
Students will be introduced to English-language legal systems and start becoming familiar with legal English,
Successful completion of this course fulfils the foreign language requirement in § 9 of the "Studienordnung" for law students.

Prerequisite: Between 55 and 69 points on the placement test

Content-based course designed specifically for law students to improve their language skills in legal contexts,
Students will be introduced to English-language legal systems and will start using legal English by, for example, reading legal texts from a variety of sources and taking part in discussions on legal topics,
Successful completion of this course fulfils the foreign language requirement in § 9 of the "Studienordnung" for law students.

Prerequisite: Between 70 and 100 points on the placement test or successful completion of "UNIcert II/2 – English for Academic Purposes"

The course is designed to prepare students for the UNIcert® III (C1) examinations in legal English by developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in a legal academic context,
For students who are planning to study abroad or complete an internship abroad and who need proof of the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference, it is recommended, provided they have the requisite language skills, that they complete the UNIcert® III level examinations to earn a UNIcert® certificate.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of a "UNIcert® III/1 – English for Law" course.
