Program overview

Do you know this situation?
You have little to no teaching experience and, in addition to your own research work, you are expected to take on teaching responsibilities, feeling as though you’ve been thrown in at the deep end. You would like to support your previously intuitive teaching with didactic knowledge. You prepare extensively for your courses, but still, the spark doesn’t quite ignite!
If this is you, then the Teaching Professionals Program is just what you need. This one-year certificate program consists of the following four components:

Throughout the program, you will go through the entire teaching process, from theory to developing your own teaching concept, conducting the course, and finally reflecting on it. During this time, you will be supported by experts. As a result, you will develop a professional teaching identity and contribute to raising the quality of education and teaching. Moreover, you will receive a certificate for your future job applications.

Program goals

The program introduces attitudes, actions, and methodologies for your teaching practice that enable you to:

  • Transfer, implement, and reflect on your acquired higher-education didactic skills in your own teaching project.
  • Reflect on and further develop your role as a teacher.
  • Facilitate and guide students’ skill acquisition.
  • Develop meaningful and targeted assessments of your teaching.
  • Develop an individual counseling approach to guide students in a respectful, goal-oriented manner based on specific needs.
  • Benefit from colleagues’ individual feedback and shared experiences to improve your teaching.
