Are you a PhD candidate or are you a Postdoc at the University of Potsdam? We cordially invite you to become a member of the Potsdam Graduate School! As a member, you benefit from the broad range of our offers: We support you during your doctoral or postdoc phase in your individual career development. Together with the faculties, we are committed to optimal PhD conditions and want to open up opportunities for your future career path.

Who can become a member?

  • PhD candidates at the University of Potsdam (both in structured graduate programs and individual doctoral candidates)
  • PhD candidates at non-university research institutions, provided that you pursue your doctorate at the University of Potsdam
  • temporary employed Postdocs and Junior Professors of the University of Potsdam


The condition for the membership for doctoral candidates is the willingness to follow the quality criteria of the University of Potsdam. These support the securing of optimal PhD conditions and enable successful completion of the doctorate within the training period.

    It's just a few steps, to apply for membership in the Potsdam Graduate School:

    1. Complete the online registration.
    2. Sign (digitally) the application that you receive from us as a PDF.
    3. If necessary, have your supervisor sign the application (digitally).
    4. Send the application to the Potsdam Graduate School preferably via mail or post.
