October 2024: NamTip project shares insights at Okaṱupa Farmers Day

Dr. Clara Nesongano from the University of Namibia (UNAM) represented the NamTip project in her capacity as project Principal Investigator at the Okaṱupa Farmers Information Day on October 18th. Held in the village of Okaṱupa, located in the Greater Waterberg Landscape of Namibia, the event brought together local farmers and agricultural experts to exchange knowledge and promote sustainable practices in communal farming. Dr. Nesongano’s presentation offered valuable insights into the region’s rangelands and key grass species. To make her message more accessible, she prepared an informative poster and delivered her talk in the local Otjiherero language. Following the presentation, she participated in a live interview on Otjiherero radio, extending the reach of her insights to an even broader audience. The response to the presentation was enthusiastic, with some farmers from other regions across Namibia expressing interest in hosting similar sessions in their own Farmers Days.
