Prof. Anja Linstädter was invited to participate in a German TV broadcast as a guest on the weekly program “Planet Wissen” (Engl.: “Planet Knowledge”). She was interviewed by journalist Jo Hiller on the pressing topics of ongoing desertification and its impact on local livelihoods. During the interview, Prof. Linstädter also highlighted the NamTip  project and in particular the TipEx experiment. In this experiment, savanna grassland is artificially pushed over a tipping point by applying simulated grazing (through grass clipping) and drought (through rainout shelters) treatments. The overarching goal is to deepen our understanding of desertification processes and to identify early warning signals, which could aid in the prevention of desertification.
