October 2023: NamTip PhD students scoop awards at the Oppenheimer Research Conference

Congratulations to our two PhD students from UNAM, Faith Chambara and Ndamonenghenda (Mona) Hamunyela for scooping first and third place in best research paper presentations at the 12th Oppenheimer Research Conference 2023! The students presented some interesting findings from their research projects which are centered on the "Investigation of potential indicators of desertification tipping points in dryland savannas", as Faith focused on perennial grass population patterns whilst Mona looked at the soil seed bank dynamics. The conference took place from the 4th to 6th October, 2023 in Johannesburg, South Africa, under the theme "Science for Impact".
