DAAD Prize 2022
This year's DAAD Prize for outstanding achievements of international students goes to Anna Zaglyadnova. The Master's student (European Media Studies) was awarded the prize for her outstanding achievements and her academic and civic commitment.
Ms Zaglyadnova has been studying in the Master's programme in European Media Studies since 2019, having already completed a degree in Foreign Philology with a focus on English Studies/Linguistics in Russia. As her reviewers explain, she gives the degree programme its own face through her impulses and is one of the rare students who continue to think through the issues of the subject in a highly independent way.
Anna Zaglyadnova is involved in various research projects and thus recommends herself just as much for an academic career as she has already done in choosing her research topic for the Master's thesis, which is described as decidedly courageous. Ms. Zaglyadnova's civil society involvement in a human rights organisation that advocates for political prisoners and the monitoring of the human rights situation is also courageous.
