Assistant Professor Dr. Steffen Künn
Steffen Künn studied economics at the Free University Berlin and at the Loughborough University (UK). He received his Master degree in April 2008. Afterwards he started his PhD studies in economics and received his PhD from the University of Potsdam in November 2012 and worked as a (Senior) Research Associate at IZA in Bonn. In his thesis „Unemployment and Active Labor Market Policy: New Evidence on Start-up Subsidies, Marginal Employment and Programs for Youth Unemployed” he investigates the effectiveness of selected active labor market policy programs in Germany.
His main research interest is in applied labor economics including topics such as the evaluation of active labor market policy, labor market mobility of unemployed job seekers, and the effects of environmental conditions (indoor conditions) on human health, cognition and labor market outcomes.
Since 2022 Steffen Künn is an Associate Professor (2015-2022 Assistant Professor) at the School of Business and Economics at Maastricht University.
