General information about the application procedure
In principle, it is possible to apply for each semester (provided the requirements of the respective study regulations are met) within the specified deadlines. The application is made online
https://umfragenup.uni-potsdam.de/abschlussarbeit-fop/
Proof of the formal requirements is provided by a current transcript of records, which must be attached to the application documents. Combine all documents to be submitted into one .pdf document and send the attachment via your university email address - otherwise your email will be deleted!
If you do not submit an attachment (in particular a current transcript of records), we will not be able to consider your application!
The subsequent selection of applicants will take place in accordance with the internal allocation guidelines. The number of accepted candidates is limited per semester. The candidate has the right to make suggestions for the choice of examiner and topic. However, this does not constitute a legal claim.

Processing your own topic proposal
It is generally possible and expressly welcomed to work on your own topic proposal. However, this presupposes that:
- You have already familiarised yourself with the relevant specialist literature,
- your topic is considered innovative within the research community or has received little attention to date,
- you are interested in empirical work and collect your own data (experiment, field study, etc.) and
- prepare an exposé as a basis for discussion with your preferred supervisor in order to clarify possible supervision in advance of the actual application.
Please talk to the supervisor of your choice about your research project well in advance of your application. When choosing your supervisor, please orientate yourself on the respective areas of interest of the staff or the chair holder.
