Terms:
Fundamentals of corporate governance and strategic management including key concepts and theories; corporate governance; organisational theories; organisational culture.
The students
- know the different management functions and levels,
- know the basics of corporate governance of German and foreign stock corporations,
- know the conceptual foundations of strategic management including central theories,
- know the conceptual foundations of organisation, including organisational theories,
- know the basics of organisational culture.
- know the most important organisational theories.
- understand the process of structuring tasks in organisations (organisational structure design).
- know the most important approaches to the integration of the individual and the organisation.
- have an in-depth understanding of emergent processes in organisations (e.g. organisational culture, micro-politics).
- understand the central models and options for action in connection with organisational change and learning.
- master the basic concepts and objectives of strategic planning.
- understand how to carry out environmental and company analyses in the context of strategic planning.
- are able to develop and compare strategic options.
- think in overarching contexts and draw their own conclusions with regard to various concepts of organisational design and corporate management.
- can relate knowledge in the field of organisation and corporate management to specific practical situations.
