One application - different scholarships

What are the Fernweh Scholarships?

To ensure that you are not confused by the number of different scholarships awarded by the International Office, the International Office has combined them for you in a joint application procedure. This way, you only have to apply once and we will assign your application to the scholarship that may be suitable for your stay.

The Fernweh scholarships are made up of the following individual scholarships:

Mobility Grant for Internships Abroad

Erasmus+ KA131 international

Erasmus+ KA171


When can I apply?

Three times a year - depending on the start of your stay abroad - you have the opportunity to apply for the Fernweh scholarships:

How can I apply?

You can find the application for the Fernweh Scholarships in our Outgoing Portal.

The application form will be activated one month before the application deadline.

Application documents

  • Letter of motivation (will be asked for in text fields in the form)
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Confirmation from the host institution
  • current certificate of enrollment (via PULS)
  • Scan of the Bachelor's certificate, if applicable
  • PULS transcript of records (incl. indication of average grade)
  • Proof of language of instruction or working language (not older than 2 years)
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Only for Dr. Gerda Heinrich Scholarship: detailed explanation of the need; if applicable, incl. supporting documents
