At the New Year's Reception of the President of the University of Potsdam, Prof. Dr. Oliver Günther, Potsdam Transfer, together with UP Transfer GmbH, awarded the Transfer Prize 2025 to Dr. Andreas Taubert, Professor of Supramolecular Chemistry and Inorganic Hybrid Materials, for his outstanding research work on practical and sustainable solutions, such as the filtration of pollutants from wastewater that cannot be removed by existing methods.

Prof. Taubert has been involved in knowledge transfer for many years and has successfully developed R&D projects with various companies to create practical solutions with high social relevance. He also supports the younger generation, maintaining various collaborations with partner schools and passing on his knowledge to students.

The Guido Reger Founder Award 2025 goes to CanChip, a start-up company founded in 2024 by Ghazaleh Madani and Dr. Omid Nejati, in recognition of their outstanding work on innovative tumour-on-a-chip technology. The young biotech company is taking cancer research to a new level: 3D models of human tumour cells can be used to study the behaviour of cancer cells and their response to treatment much more accurately and authentically than with the conventional cultivation of cancer cells in 2D cell cultures.

This process provides a better understanding of cancer biology, paves the way for personalised treatment strategies and, most importantly, eliminates the need for animal testing.

Congratulations!

Since 2013, Potsdam Transfer and UP Transfer GmbH have jointly awarded the Transfer Prize to scientists at the University of Potsdam who build a bridge between research, business and society in a special way and promote dialog between the different levels.

With the Guido Reger Founder Award, Potsdam Transfer honours innovative business ideas of founders who, with their ideas and entrepreneurial spirit, make a lasting positive contribution to the economy and society.
