Association For Funding Academic Sports Potsdam

The purpose of the association is the funding of a leisure and health-oriented sport. The association also serves the idealistic and material funding of the Academic Sports Center at the University of Potsdam and the cooperating universities, the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam and the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. The participation of other groups of people is desired if there are free capacities and is handled by the Association for Funding of Academic Sports. For cooperating institutions of the UP and citizens of the city of Potsdam, there is thus the possibility of maintaining a connection to the university through sports.

The Academic Sports in Potsdam is structurally organized by the Academic Sports Center (ZfH) and the Association for Funding of Academic Sports (Verein zur Förderung des Hochschulsports e.V.). Courses and events that take place in sports facilities of the University, the Film University and the University of Applied Sciences are regulated within the fee schedule of the ZfH. The Association regulates all courses, events and participations that take place in municipal sports facilities or that fall outside the scope of the fee schedule due to their cost intensity or participant status. This construct is necessary in order to provide a high volume and quality of sporting activities and to guarantee a structured, complementary offer. Activities and capacities are to be bundled and shared.
