On 19 June, Prof. Neitzel from the University of Potsdam and Prof. Bergien from the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Department of Intelligence Services, organised the block seminar

‘Mission impossible? The West's intervention in Afghanistan and the role of the intelligence services, 2001-2014’.

Students from the University of Potsdam and the MISS programme at the Federal University of Applied Sciences spent a day discussing the structural and cultural challenges of intelligence work during the ISAF mission with academics and contemporary witnesses as well as experts from the BND, the Bundeswehr and the Federal Police.

Many thanks to Olaf Lindner, the head of Federal Police Directorate 11, who hosted us.
