Data Fusion Approaches

Large existing datasets on carbon pools in soil and biomass will be compiled for all WASCAL member countries, and subsequently analysed for carbon stock dynamics (C sequestration and losses) using spacefor-time substitutions for land-use change and climate change. Tier 1 with its work packages WP 1 and WP 2 takes advantage of the fact that many environmental projects have been active in West Africa in the past two decades, creating large (und hitherto basically unharnessed) datasets on carbon stocks.
