Prof. Thomas Siedler (PhD)
Thomas Siedler is Professor of Economics with a focus on microeconometrics at Universität Potsdam and Berlin School of Economics. Before taking up the post, he was Professor of Economics at Universität Hamburg. Thomas Siedler received both his PhD and MSc in Applied Economics and Data Analysis at the University of Essex in the UK, as well graduating in economics from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
Professor Siedler is also a Research Associate at the Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER), University of Essex, as well as a Research Fellow at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA) in Bonn.
His research focuses on the fields of labor market economics, health economics, family economics, and applied microeconometrics.
Professor Siedler was responsible for developing the e-learning website www.mcempirics.com, which comprises over 1000 introductory econometric questions and answers. With the help of single- and multiple-choice questions, mcEmpirics gives undergraduates the opportunity to assess their knowledge and refresh their skills.
Professor Siedler has had academic articles published in several leading journals including: American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, Economic Journal; Journal of Public Economics; Journal of Health Economics; Demography; Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series A; Health Economics; Economic Letters; Economica; Labour Economics; Economics of Transition; Journal of Comparative Economics; Journal of Population Economics; Scandinavian Journal of Economics; Population and Development Review; and Behavior Genetics.
