Oumarou Hebie

Oumarou Hebie studiert im Master für öffentliche Wirtschaft und angewandte Statistik. Er arbeitet derzeit für die Internationale Organisation für Migration und war zuvor für eine Reihe von Entwicklungsorganisationen im Bereich Überwachung/Kontrolle und Evaluation tätig.
Sein Forschungsinteresse gilt der Entwicklung innovativer Methoden zur Datenerhebung über Migration in Ländern mit niedrigem Einkommen, dem Verständnis der Wurzeln und Folgen der irregulären Migration junger Afrikaner:innen nach Europa und der Untersuchung der Wirksamkeit von Einwanderungsmaßnahmen unter Verwendung experimenteller und quasi-experimenteller Designs.

Oumarou Hebie holds a Master of Science in Public Economy and Applied Statistics. He is currently working for the International Organization for Migration and has previously worked for a range of development organizations in the field of monitoring, and evaluation.
His research interest is focused on developing innovative methods for data collection on migration in low income countries, understanding the core roots and consequences of the irregular migration of young Africans to Europe and investigating the effectiveness of immigration policies using experimental and quasi-experimental designs.
