Position DR/004/24 – PhD student Ohler/Kaufmann group

Research assistant (m/f/d) with expected 65% of regular working hours - E 13 TV-L HU (third-party funding limited until December 31, 2027) located at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin.

Area of responsibility:

  • Research in the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center SFB 1644 "Phenotypic Plasticity in Plants- Mechanisms, Limitations and Evolution".
  • Subproject A8 analyzes mechanisms of gene regulatory plasticity in leaf development under different environmental conditions, as well as evolution across closely related species.
  • The project is a collaboration between the labs of Kerstin Kaufmann (Institute of Biology/HU), Uwe Ohler (Institute of Biology/HU and BIMSB) and Phil Wigge (IGZ Grossbeeren).
  • The area of responsibility includes the computational analysis of high-throughput data in the field of regulatory genomics, including single cell and cell type-specific genomics data.
  • Tasks for your own scientific qualification (doctorate). The position holder will be jointly supervised by Prof. Dr. Uwe Ohler and Prof. Dr. Kerstin Kaufmann.

Requirements:

  • Completed scientific university degree in bioinformatics or a related discipline (with above-average results if possible; students close to graduation are also invited to apply);
  • theoretical knowledge and practical experience in analyzing genomics data
  • programming skills (e.g. Python, R)
  • good English knowledge
