Project description
In business-related technology transfer, the focus is on tapping the existing innovation and utilisation potential at the university and quickly making it available for utilisation in small and medium-sized enterprises in the Brandenburg region. Conversely, it is about identifying questions from industry, determining the requirements and needs for research services and technologies, and finding scientific partners. The aim is to link the know-how of the scientists with the requirements from the companies. Science and industry must be in close dialogue and use the existing R&D potential for cooperation and joint projects. Through the university's technology transfer, companies are offered a platform to find suitable scientific partners for their innovation and growth process and the barrier to accessing research and development services is removed.
Within the framework of the project, a so-called scientific competence matrix has been developed. This is an overview of technology transfer-relevant working groups and disciplines of the University of Potsdam. If you are interested in these or similar fields, please do not hesitate to contact us.
You can download the Science Competence Matrix as a PDF file here.
Focal points of the activities in the transfer area
- Raising awareness and initiating R&D projects between universities and non-university research institutions and companies.
- As an intermediary, we seek contact with partners from industry in order to find points of contact for joint projects with scientists at the University of Potsdam, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, in the opposite direction
- constant exchange with scientists in order to always have the current state of research and, if necessary, to quickly suggest suitable cooperation partners
- establishing new contacts with companies and demonstrating research potential and offering research services - realised through on-site visits
- visits to transfer-relevant (trade) events and fairs (demand orientation)
- Involving craft enterprises in transfer work - contacting regional craft enterprises and identifying needs
- Taking up enquiries and needs from the business community and providing support up to the point of project initiation - Conducting interviews and discussions in companies
- Maintaining contacts between companies and scientists - organising joint meetings for exchange, invitations to transfer events, regular contacts
- Organisation of specialist events on technology transfer with cluster relevance and joint content design with the cluster managers
- Regional presentations and trade fair appearances to find cooperation partners from industry
- Regular exchange with the individual cluster managers on needs from the companies as well as on the latest R&D results for economic exploitation.
- Searching for cooperation partners for the scientists through the staff of the respective clusters and also approaching the transfer offices through the cluster staff in the search for a scientific partner
- Preparation of information materials for the transfer work for the individual clusters
