Andreas Johannes Ullmann is a political scientist whose research is located at the intersection of international relations and international law with a special interest in the fields of human rights, development, and international trade and investment. His work has appeared in journals such as the European Journal of International Law and Advances in Climate Change Research. He holds a B.A. in sociology from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and an M.A. in political science with a specialization in comparative politics and area studies from Universität Hamburg. During his studies he worked as a research assistant at the Universität Hamburg and interned at the German embassy in Lomé, Togo. In his PhD project he is exploring the factors that shape state compliance with the UN human rights treaty bodies’ individual complaint procedures.
