While members of this working group have focused on vegetation ecology in Zambezi Region, Namibia, our colleagues from University of Namibia (UNAM) in Katima-Mulilo are experts on wildlife ecology.
Starting this November, we integrate our expertise to research the topic of human-wildlife conflicts in this mosaic landscape where wildlife conservation areas border human settlement areas and agricultural fields. The project Future Rural Africa now happily supports the MSc thesis of Mr Lucky Sitali Mbeha from UNAM Katima-Mulilo campus. He currently collects data on human-wildlife conflict incidents in communal conservation areas situated near Mudumu National Park. We are looking forward to pooling data, brains, and resources for exiting research in the future!
