Colloquium in Military History for Doctoral Students

The Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) – represented by the Academic Advisory Board of the Sponsorship Prize for Military History and the History of Military Technology – organizes a colloquium on military history at the Centre for Military History and Social Sciences of the Bundeswehr (ZMSBw) in Potsdam on 16-17 November 2023. This colloquium is a collaborative effort of the University of Potsdam, the Working Group for Military History, the Working Group for the Military and Society in the Early Modern Period and the ZMSBw.

The colloquium is aimed specifically at doctoral students. The colloquium provides them with an opportunity to discuss their research with an international and interdisciplinary audience across historical epochs. The conference languages are German and English. The event is open to all methodological, thematic and temporal perspectives, ranging from antiquity to the contemporary. Travel and accommodation costs incurred by speakers (second-class rail / economy flight tickets) will be reimbursed by the organizers.
