FAQs
How do writing consultations work?
How do writing consultations work?
After booking an appointment via terminland, one of our tutors will get in touch with you.
You can either discuss a specific topic or question, or you can use the consultation session as a safe space to experiment with your ideas and brainstorm together with a writing expert.
We take time to listen to your ideas, thoughts and worries. We can help you if you are stuck in your writing process and can help you to understand your own writing process better. We work towards solutions and follow a person-centred approach during our consultations.
If you want to receive a well-founded text feedback (note: no proofreading service!) make sure that you choose 3 representing pages and send these before the consultation via e-mail. This way your writing tutor has enough time to go though your text and will focus on discussing your text during the meeting.
I haven’t started yet. Is that a problem?
Absolutely not! Our experience shows that talking about your topic, your reading, former writing projects etc. is particularly helpful for getting started.
How do I benefit from a writing consultation?
You will benefit from a consultation at different times of your studies in different ways. It is always worth dropping by no matter whether you are a first-year student or are ready to hand in your master thesis.
Can you proofread my paper?
We are no proofreading service but are happy to give feedback on the strengths and structural weaknesses of your text. Together we develop a revision plan.
Does anyone know that I came to see you?
No, all information is handled confidentially.
