Renewal application for the university scholarship 2024/25

The university scholarships usually end on October 1st of each year. However, there is the possibility for you to apply for an extension. The deadline for submitting the documents is April 14, 2024. If the deadline cannot be met, you must reapply for the scholarship online from July 1.

The University of Potsdam will check whether your talent and performance justify the continuation of the scholarship. Your academic achievements are particularly important. Special personal circumstances, commitment, internships and special achievements/awards will also be taken into account in the decision.

In the event that insufficient funding is available, you must reapply for the university scholarship from July 1.

Please note that if you have completed your Bachelor's degree, your funding will be terminated and you will have to reapply for the university scholarship for any subsequent Master's degree program.

Exceeding the standard period of study

If the standard period of study is exceeded, a scholarship can only be granted in exceptional cases, for example in the case of

a disability
pregnancy
the care and upbringing of a child
a study-related stay abroad
participation in a university committee (elected members)

If such an exceptional case exists, please submit a justified, informal application for an extension of the scholarship. It is important that you can provide credible evidence of the reasons for the extension. Please fill out the following form completely and truthfully. If you are not applying for an extension, please complete the document anyway and treat it as a final report on your scholarship.

The legal basis for data processing is your voluntary consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) p. 1 lit. a DSGVO (consent). In the event that the application contains health information or other categories of data listed in Art. 9 (1) DSGVO (e.g. information on ethnic origin or sexual orientation), consent pursuant to Art. 9 (2) lit. a DSGVO is the legal basis for data processing.
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to revoke your consent at any time. The revocation of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the revocation.
Duration of data storage
Your data will be deleted no later than three years after you submit your application. You have the option to revoke your consent to data protection at any time.
Transmission of data to third parties
Your data will only be transferred to the respective funding partners for whom permission to transfer has already been granted in writing.
Your rights
You have the right to request information from us about the processing of personal data concerning you. In addition to a copy of the personal data, this right to information also includes the purposes of the data processing, data recipients as well as the storage period.
If incorrect personal data is processed, you can request that we correct this data. If the legal requirements from Art. 17 or 18 DSGVO exist, you are also generally entitled to the right to erasure of personal data or to restriction of processing. Please note that restricted processing of data may not be possible. You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, common and machine-readable format or to request the transfer to another controller (Art. 20 DSGVO).
