Humboldt Research Fellow Dr. Patricio Yeste has been awarded the prize for the best PhD dissertation in the field of climatology from the Spanish Association of Climatology

Dr. Patricio Yeste, Institute for Environmental Sciences and Geography, University of Potsdam, Germany at the XIII Conference of the Spanish Association of Climatology, Spain, on January 24, 2025.

Humboldt Research Fellow Dr. Patricio Yeste has been awarded the prize for the best PhD dissertation in the field of climatology from the Spanish Association of Climatology (AEC – Asociación Española de Climatología).

The awards ceremony took place in January 2025 at the XIII Conference of the Spanish Association of Climatology in San Lorenzo de El Escorial. The prize consisted of a diploma, a fee waiver for the conference, and a small gift, all in recognition for the outstanding quality and impact of his research.

Patricio completed his PhD at the University of Granada in Spain. In 2022, he spent two months at the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Geography, where he successfully applied for a Humboldt Research Fellowship for postdoctoral researcher in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Axel Bronstert. He began his postdoctoral research in the Hydrology and Climatology group in January 2024.
