Expectations on new technologies in the public sector
In their study, Fischer, Willems and Van den Bergh examined what citizens expect of new technologies in the public sector and whether they expect changes in terms of values such as efficiency, transparency or fairness. Furthermore the expectations of the public sector and profit-oriented companies are compared. The results show that there are neither negative nor positive expectations with regard to the effects of these technologies; this applies to both public and private-sector provision of services.
