Vegetation (VG)

The Vegetation’s Group investigate the influence of vegetation on the Cosmic-Ray Neutrons (CRN). Since thermal and fast neutrons respond differently, they provide the possibility for simultaneous soil moisture, biomass and interception measurement.

This approach offers the potential to better investigate the soil-vegetation-atmosphere continuum, e.g. during drought situations.
