It has become clear during the last three decades that tectonics, climate and erosion are intimately coupled and expressed through the topography of mountain belts. Advancing our understanding of these couplings requires the development of tools that record erosion rates and topographic changes with higher spatial and temporal resolution than the current state-of-the-art. This is the goal of the ERC-fundet COOLEr project established at the University of Potsdam since 2020.

Besuchen Sie das Max-Planck-Institut für Molekulare Pflanzenphysiologie in Golm am 13. Juni 2023. Werfen Sie einen Blick in das moderne Forschungsgewächshaus, unterhalten Sie sich mit Pflanzenwissenschaftlern und lernen Sie, wie das MPI zusammen mit der Uni Potsdam die Geheimnisse unserer grünen Verwandten entschlüsselt werden. Die Vorträge: „Making a seed: genetics and applications” (Dr. Duratte Figueiredo (MPI-MP) und „Genetic and molecular mechanisms for plasticity of plant metabolism and growth” (Prof. Dr. Zoran Nikoloski) werden in englischer Sprache gehalten. Im Anschluss laden die Organisatoren zur regen Diskussion im Foyer ein, sowie zu zwei Führungen, die durch die Gewächshäuser des Institutes von Dr. Tobias Lortzing geleitet werden. Wir bitten um eine verbindliche Anmeldung, da die Plätze bei den Führungen begrenzt sind.
