Prof. Dr. Damaris Zurell
Forschungsinteressen
Ich bin Professorin für Ökologie und Makroökologie an der Universität Potsdam und erforsche, wie die biologische Vielfalt auf Umweltveränderungen reagiert. Meine Arbeit verbindet theoretische Ökologie, Naturschutz und prädiktive Biodiversitätsmodellierung, wobei ich oft Grundlagenforschung mit realen Herausforderungen des Naturschutzes verbinde. Ich leite eine interdisziplinäre Forschungsgruppe, koordiniere internationale Initiativen und trage aktiv zu globalen wissenschaftlichen Netzwerken zu Biodiversität und Klimawandel bei. Durch kollaborative, datengestützte Forschung möchte ich einen evidenzbasierten Naturschutz in einer sich schnell verändernden Welt unterstützen. Schwerpunktmäßig arbeite ich in terrestrischen Ökosystemen, insbesondere mit Vögeln, Säugetieren und Pflanzen.
