Tropentag is an annual interdisciplinary conference on tropical and subtropical agriculture, natural resource management, and rural development. This year’s Tropentag conference 2022 was held in Prague (Czech Republic) at the Czech University of Life Sciences from 14th to the 16th of September. At the conference, scientists and farmers gathered to discuss the question: Can agroecology feed the world?
It was amazing to see among the scientists that were present, members from AG Linstädter working group namely Liana Kindermann, Lisa-Maricia Schwarz, Kai Behn, and James Nana Ofori contributing to this conference with their research findings. Professor Anja Linstädter was also present to contribute to the fruitful discussion of the conference theme.
Liana Kindermann gave a nice talk on ‘’Carbon storage potential in Savanna woody vegetation’’. The posters presented by researchers from this group can be downloaded here:
Kai Behn: ‘’Assessing the relevance of drought duration on dryland rangelands’’
Lisa Schwarz: "Functional diversity as an indicator of rangeland degradation – insights from a Namibian grazing gradient study"
James Nana Ofori: ‘’Africa’s woodlands in transition: Effects of climate change, land-use change on plant functional diversity and their carbon pools’’.
Big thank you to all participants for their insightful contribution to this conference.
