Short biography

Since April 2017, Julia Fleischer is Professor and Chair in German Politics and Government at the University of Potsdam. Previously, she was associate professor at the University of Bergen, assistant professor at the University of Amsterdam, and senior researcher at the German Research Institute for Public Administration Speyer (FÖV). She was a visiting researcher at the Waseda University (Tokyo), Stanford University (SCANCOR) as well as the Stockholm Center of Organizational Research (SCORE) and the Long Distance University Madrid.

Research

Prof. Dr. Julia Fleischer is currently Principal Investigator in the following research projects:

  • STATE-DNA studies structural change in government organizations (ministries and agencies) and its causes and effects for government policy, funding: ERC-CoG
  • STATECORP analyses the change of corporate forms in the public sector, funding: Norwegian Research Council 
  • FISCAP investigates administrative assistance in East German tax administrations after reunification Link, funding: DFG
