Sport orthopedics and traumatology
The orthopedic and traumatologic sports medical examination includes either an examination of the whole body, where all (relevant) localisations of the musculoskeletal system are evaluated or a symptom driven examination, where the relations to existing complaints are considered. The examination of he whole body is applied in pool examinations of athletes active on regional, state or on national level resp. at health and preventive examination. The symptom-oriented examination takes place in the sport orthopedics consultation-hours with athletes and patients reporting complaints.
Content:
- Aquisition of predisposed characteristics to prevent from complaints
- Documentation of single symptoms and symptome patterns with the aim of rehabilitation

- Anamnesis, inspection, palpation, functional analysis
Auxiliary examinations:
- Medical imaging (Sonograpy, X-ray)
- Biomechanic analysis methods (Strength diagnostics, EMG, Posturography, Kinematics, Ground force reaction measures, Pedography)
