Course supporting excursions

In 2012 and 2013, students from the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Peking visited the University of Potsdam for a summer course dealing with the topics `Europe and Germany‘. The umbrella topic centered around politics and economics in Europe and especially in Germany. The innovative course program was designed in cooperation with our instructors and aimed at combining the background knowledge presented in lectures and seminars with practical workshops and discussions at the actual scenes of events.

Visits to start-up companies, as well as workshops at large German companies in Berlin and a Design Thinking workshop at the Hasso-Plattner-Institut (HPI) at the campus Griebnitzsee, were all part of the course. During their stay the students were accommodated in dormitories of the Potsdam Student Services which enabled them to get
to know other international and German students.
