WIPCAD Lecture Series - Prof. Robert Wade and Prof. Peter J. Katzenstein

On June 3, 2015 WIPCAD had the pleasure to welcome renowned professors from LSE and Cornell University for its Lectures Series.

First we welcomed Prof. Robert Wade. He is Professor of Political Economy and Development at the London School of Economics, Great Britain. Robert Wade stayed at the Potsdam Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies from May 19 to June 18, 2015.

He talked on the topic:
“Climate change and global finance: no solution for one without transformation of the other”

Later that day we welcomed Prof. Peter J. Katzenstein who is Walter S. Carpenter, Jr. Professor of International Studies at Cornell University, Ithaca/NY, USA. Katzenstein’s work addresses issues of political economy, security and culture in world politics. His current research interests focus on the politics of civilizations; on questions of public diplomacy, law, religion, and popular culture; regionalism in world politics; and German politics.

He talked on the topic:
“Civilizations in world politics: Beyond East and West”

The PhD-fellows had also the opportunity to meet with Prof. Katzenstein before his Lecture for individual discussion.
