Mathematics Bridge Course before Start of Semester

Modern geosciences combine a multifaceted view of the Earth system. The study of the solid Earth and its dynamic processes requires solid knowledge of various scientific disciplines in order to better understand chemical and physical processes on and in the Earth's body.

Mathematics has a special place in basic scientific training, as it enables us not only to describe geo-processes, but also to quantify them. In this sense, the mathematical training of students is a particularly important part for successful studies and therefore begins directly in the first semester. In order to facilitate the transition between school mathematics and university mathematics, the Faculty of Science at the University of Potsdam has been offering a so-called bridge course BEFORE the start of the semester for many years. Accordingly, we would like to recommend that future first-semester geosciences students take part in this course. More information please find here.
