University Library: Open Access publication funding from 2025

For the last ten years publication funding, financed through grants from the German Research Foundation (DFG) and procured by the university library, has included (partial) payment of article processing charges (APCs) and participation in transformative or “publish and read” agreements, which offer more favorable publishing conditions for University of Potsdam authors.

Starting in 2025, the structure and nature of this support will be adapted to align with the evolving landscape shaped by DEAL and other transformative agreements. The new model, approved in advanced by the appropriate university senate committee, shifts toward (partial) financing by authors for open access articles beginning in 2025.
