Health Workshops 2024: Social Health – How to Establish a Healthy Social Network in Germany
Humans are social creatures. We’re meant to have relationships and connections for our health and wellness. The need for it has become even clearer since the Covid-19 crisis and the increased digitalization of the workplace.
As expats you often face unique challenges related to social health as you navigate life in a new country. Social health can be defined as our ability to interact and form meaningful relationships with others. It also relates to how comfortably we can adapt in social situations. Social relationships have an impact on our mental health, physical health and mortality risk.
So how do we define healthy relationships? How do Germans communicate and interact with each other and form relationships? What is my individual communication style and how is it either contributing or threatening my social health? What do I need to form a healthy relationship both with myself and others – particularly with Germans?
We'll explore strategies and insights to help you navigate the complexities of social health and help you establish a healthy social network in Germany.
