Opening Symposium 2018
Since mid-2018, the University of Potsdam supports the „Network for Digital Humanities“, as a part of its strategic promotion of research. The network was created by Prof. Dr. Peer Trilcke (Junior profession for German Literature and Head of the Theodor-Fontane-Archives), as well Prof. Dr. Birgit Schneider (Professor of Media Ecology) and will assemble and support activities in the field of Digital Humanities.
The research iniative serves as a space for scholars to create interdisciplinary work environments and to foster the growth of the Digital Humanities in Potsdam. There will be co- operation with the different institutes within the Philosophical Faculty, as well as among the other faculties of the University of Potsdam and other research facilities in Potsdam, such as the University of Applied Science in Potsdam, and also between regional, national and international institutes affiliated to Digital Humanities.
The „Network for Digital Humanities“ was officially opened on the 18th and 19th of October 2018 with keynotes and a workshop.
