Qualification and mentoring programs for Women in IT
- Informatica Feminale BW
The informatica feminale Baden-Württemberg (ifbw) is a summer university for female students and interested women in the field of computer science and related disciplines. It takes place annually at the end of July / beginning of August either at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (Technical Faculty) or at the Hochschule Furtwangen. Female students pay between €20-80 for the different course formats. One can apply for subsidies for travel costs and accommodation.
- Informatica Feminale Bremen
The University of Bremen is organizing an international summer study program for women in computer science. The participation fee for female students and non-employed persons is a one-time fee of €40 for two weeks. The fee can be waived in exchange for about 4 hours of cooperation at the summer university. Childcare is provided free of charge throughout the summer university.

- Mentoring Plus für Studentinnen
The twelve-month Mentoring Plus program provides professional support for female students in the final phase of their studies. During this time, the participants (mentees) receive individual and practical support from experienced specialists and managers (mentors) and exchange ideas in peer groups. In addition, workshops and networking events provide the space to train soft skills and to deal with professional goals and career options.
- Fementor: Reverse Mentoring
FeMentor is a platform that supports young women through the concept of reverse mentoring. Usually the mentor is the one who gives advice, in the case of FeMentor mentees get the opportunity to share their knowledge in return. This way there is no gap between mentor and mentee. There is an exchange at eye level, which is helpful for both.
- Black Girls Hack
BlackGirlsHack was created to share knowledge and resources to help black girls and women breakthrough barriers to careers in information security and cyber security. The vision for Black Girls Hack (BGH) is to provide resources, training, mentoring, and access to black girls and women and increase representation and diversity in the cyber security field and in the executive suites.
