I studied English and German at the University of Tampere, Finland and received my teaching degree in both languages in 2016. Furthermore, I completed a specialication programme in technical communication and in German-Finnish translation during my studies, in addition to the pedagogical studies. My main interest still lies in teaching English as a Foreign Language.
I have gained practical experience in project coordination in the field of translation and in teaching English in Finnish primary and secondary schools.
My interests in research and teaching include
- Plurilingualism in language education
- Sociocultural Theory in SLA
- Early (foreign) language learning
- Task-based language learning and teaching
- Language policies towards minority languages in the school context
- Translanguaging as a pedagogical approach
- Teaching English in plurilingual and pluricultural contexts
Ph.D. project
Working Title: Plurilingual Repertoire in the Primary EFL Classroom: A Sociocultural Study of Peer Interaction.
Awards: Junior Researcher LAB award at the 30th Annual Conference of the European Second Language Association (EuroSLA) 2021, awarded by the Journal Linguistic Approaches to Bilingualism (LAB).
