Werdegang

Andreas Heißel ist Senior Research Fellow an der Professur für Sozial- und Präventivmedizin am Institut für Sport- und Gesundheitswissenschaften der Universität Potsdam, Deutschland. Er studierte Sport-, Politik- und Erziehungswissenschaften in Potsdam, Berlin und Sydney. Promotion in Sportpsychologie, zunächst an der Humboldt-Universität Berlin (2010-2013), 2013 Abschluss an der Universität Potsdam über adipöse Kinder, die von Sporttherapeuten autonomiefördernd betreut werden.

2006-2009 Athletik- und Rehabilitationstrainer für Erstliga- und Junioren-Nationalmannschaften im Volleyball (2007 Gewinn der Goldmedaille bei den Junioren-Europameisterschaften). 2010-2022 war er Leiter des Standortes im Sportforum des Sport- und Gesundheitsparks Berlin/ Zentrum für Sportmedizin (8000 trainierende Klienten/Patienten; 6000 sportmedizinische Untersuchungen, darunter 3000 Spitzensportler pro Jahr) und ist dort jetzt CRO. Er arbeitete über 20 Jahre in der Praxis mit Patienten und Sportlern, betreute und leitete ein Team von mehr als 30 Sporttherapeuten und verfügt über 17 Jahre klinische Erfahrung. Als Ausgründung aus der Universität Potsdam gründete er 2022 das Zentrum für emotionale Gesundheit Deutschland mit dem Ziel, die www.step-sporttherapie.de in der Versorgung zu implementieren

Dr. Heißel hat über 2,5 Mio. € an Forschungsgeldern eingeworben, darunter auch Fördermittel aus dem Innovationsfonds. Er betreute mehr als 10 Doktoranden in den Bereichen Sport- und Gesundheitswissenschaften, Psychologie und Medizin.

Forschungsinteressen / Lehre

Andreas Forschungsinteressen konzentrieren sich auf mentale/ emotionale Gesundheit und Gesundheitserziehung (psychologische Grundbedürfnisse/Motivation, Depression, Angst, chronische Schmerzen), körperliche Aktivität, Bewegung, Achtsamkeit und Meditation.

Er leitete die STEP.De-Studie (Sporttherapie bei Depression in der Versorgung) mit Prof. Rapp (Studienleitung Evaluation), in der er die Gesamtstudienleitung innehatte und die psychologischen) Schulungen des Fachpersonals und die spezifische Bewegungstherapie entwickelte, und die SPeED-Studie (mit Prof. Heinzel) (Neurobiologische Mechanismen von Sport und Psychotherapie bei Depression) sowie weitere Studien.

Er lehrt u.a. Mind-Body-Verfahren, Sporttherapie in Gesundheitssport und Psychiatrie, Methoden von Systematic Reviews in Bachelor-, Master- und PhD-Studiengängen.
