Mentoring.International

Mentoring.International ist ein bis 2024 gefördertes Teilprojekt des DAAD im Rahmen des Programmes „Lehramt. International“ der Universität Potsdam.

Ziel der Maßnahme ist zum einen die Entwicklung einer digitalen Fortbildungsmöglichkeit im Mentoring für Lehrkräfte deutscher Partnerschulen im Ausland, welche Potsdamer Lehramtsstudierende in praxisbezogenen Ausbildungsanteilen betreuen. Zum anderen wird eine Variante zur Fachdidaktik-Hospitation, die Mentor:in.Hospitation, entwickelt und erprobt, welche durch Vor- und Nachbesprechung einer Unterrichtsstunde im Team von Student:in, Mentor:in und Fachdidaktiker:in die Ausbilder mit dem:der Studierenden in den fachlichen Austausch treten lässt und hierdurch reziproke Entwicklung zu erwirken sucht.

Mentoring.International entsteht in Kooperation mit der AG-Mentor*innenqualifizierungder UP[1] für Brandenburger Lehrkräfte und transferiert das Konzept in Teilen auf die internationale Ebene. Verantwortlich für das Projekt ist der Fachbereich Musikpädagogik und -didaktik der Sekundarstufen.[2] 

In 2021 wurden die ersten digitalen Fortbildungen mit Deutschen Partnerschulen im Ausland durchgeführt, 2022 im Rahmen des ZeLB- Kooperationsschultreffens an der UP ein Workshop zum Mentoring durchgeführt und das Konzept der Mentor:in.Hospitation entwickelt und in 2023 und 2024 erprobt. Für 2025 ist die Veröffentlichung der wissenschaftlichen Ergebnisse zur Mentor.in.Hospitation und ihre Verstätigung in dem Praxissemester Ausland geplant. Ebenso wird ein digitales Selbstlerntool zum Mentoring für betreuende Lehrkräfte im Ausland bereitgestellt werden.

Mentoring.International

Mentoring.International is a DAAD sub-project funded until 2024 as part of the program “Lehramt.International” (Internationalization of teacher training) at the University of Potsdam.

The measure aims to offer digital qualification opportunities for competence development in mentoring for teachers at German partner schools abroad who supervise Potsdam teaching degree students in practice-related training components. Furthermore, a method of didactic teaching observation, the mentor:in.observation, is being developed and tested. This allows the mentor to enter a professional exchange with the students by discussing a lesson in advance and after the realization of the teaching unit in a team of student, mentor, and subject didactician, thereby seeking to achieve reciprocal development.

Mentoring.International is being developed in cooperation with the “AG Mentor*innenqualifizierung” working group at the UP[1] for teachers in Brandenburg and transfers parts of this concept to the international sphere. The academic department for music education and didactics for secondary schools is in charge of the project.[2]

In the year 2021, the initial implementation of digital professional development programs with German partner schools abroad took place. Subsequently, in 2022, as part of the ZeLB (Center for Teacher Education and Educational Research) cooperative school meeting at the University of Potsdam (UP), a workshop on mentoring was conducted, leading to the formulation of the mentor:in.observation concept. This concept was further developed and tested during the years 2023 and 2024. In 2025, there are plans for the publication of the scholarly findings pertaining to mentor:in.observation, accompanied by its formal validation within the context of the practical internship semester abroad. Additionally, a digital self-learning tool for mentoring will be made available to supervising educators abroad.
