Quiz Fun and Language Diversity at the Zessko booths at the Campus Festival on 30 May, 2024

The Campus Festival took place against the historic backdrop of the Neues Palais with the motto "From the university - for the university". The Zessko was represented at two booths and provided information about the writing assistance, the presentation coaching, the Zessko language courses, the weekly language cafés in the media center and the language tandems.

At the language team’s booth, visitors showed great interest in the quizzes about different languages and cultures. Anouchka Bodenmann, Gresia Schmidt, Mohammad Mobasheri, Anne Müller and Steffen Skowronek hosted the guessing and trivia fun, with the quiz tables constantly surrounded by quiz junkies and language enthusiasts. The winners received cold drinks and the popular gummy bears. During conversations about the services offered by the Zessko, many new participants were acquired for the language cafés and language tandems. The afternoon was a complete success for the students and the Zessko team!

At the writing assistance booth, visitors of all ages were once again delighted by the colourful wheel of fortune. Interested festival goers could test their knowledge of academic writing and win writing utensils by taking part in the writing assistance quiz. While adults answered questions about the phases of the scientific writing process, elementary school children were able to try their hand at a quiz developed just for them. This experience included learning about how to edit a story and discovering how walks can stimulate creativity.

Alongside the quiz, festival visitors made good use of the information opportunities at the writing assistance booth. Writing assistants from the Zessko and the Faculty of Arts provided details about services such as individual consultations, workshops and the Writing Fellow program. The presentation coaching’s consultations and workshops were also introduced to festivalgoers.

Many thanks to everyone involved for making this event a success!
