Specific Qualification in TraceAge

The Department of Molecular Epidemiology at the German Institute of Human Nutrition (DIfE), led by Matthias Schulze, has long-standing experience in epidemiologic research on dietary determinants of T2DM risk based on large-scale population-based studies, in particular the EPIC-Potsdam cohort study. The research has specifically focused on biomarkers of dietary intake and metabolism (fatty acid phospholipid composition, lipidomics, Fe metabolism) and their relation to T2DM, also in the context of genetic interactions. The group has substantial experience in complex statistical modeling, e.g. with regard to biomarker mediation effects, dietary pattern analysis and the analysis of complex biomarker profiles.
