Open Science

We are committed to the principles of transparent and reproducible science and actively implement and promote them as part of our research and teaching.

These principles include, for example:

  • Pre-registration of hypotheses for confirmatory or hypothesis-testing studies and planned statistical hypothesis tests (including all relevant parameters),
  • Explicit identification of exploratory research in publications
  • A priori planning of sufficiently large samples, preferably based on power analyses,
  • Make the results of their own findings available, e.g. by using online resources,
  • Providing data, materials, and analysis scripts or additional results,
  • Open Access and/or preprint publication, provided that no copyright restrictions are violated.

In order to anchor the topic in the curriculum and to promote awareness and skills, students writing a thesis in Social Psychology are required to pre-register their hypotheses and the planned statistical hypothesis tests.
