INTEGRAL is an observational study comparing two psychiatric hospitals, one offering standard mental health care, the other one has an integrative medicine approach combining conventional treatment with complementary and alternative medicine. A heterogeneous sample of inpatients will be included in the study. Outcomes will be assessed at three time points and represent three frameworks: severity of disease, personal recovery and trans-diagnostic phenomena. The aim of the study is to optimize the treatment of patients suffering from severe mental illness.
