IRTG-Retreat 2024

At the end of August 2024 we went on our first IRTG-retreat at the Paretz Akademie together with all PhDs.

It was the first time the whole group of PhDs met and got to know each other. 

On the first day every PhD student had to give a brief talk on who he or she is and what describes her or him the best. Moreover, they had to tell about their former research as well as about their planned research during their PhD.

On the second day Dr. Johannes Freudenreich from the PoGS (Potsdam Graduate School) visited us and introduced the work of his team. Afterwards we did a short game where the PhDs had to get creative and think about nanoscale and light in a different way than they do in their research and had to present their results. In the afternoon we did a workshop on Personal Training and Development where everybody found out what he or she wants to improve regarding the skills you need to be a successful researcher.

The third day was all about organization and planning for the upcoming events.
