Content:
Macroeconomic variables are to be understood and analysed by means of macroeconomic terms in problem-oriented modelling in total economic models.
Qualifikation goals:
Students
- learn how the short-term Keynesian model of an open economy can be used to analyse macroeconomic issues,
- know alternative explanations of the relationship between output, inflation and employment and their economic policy implications,
- can determine the importance of the monetary sector, and in particular financial markets, for macroeconomic dynamics.

Students
- are familiar with the formal and content-related requirements of a bachelor thesis, have techniques for scientific work
- are able to develop a research question and a research design with the support of the lecturer
- can present and defend their research projects appropriately.

Teaching content:
The subject of the course is equilibrium-oriented dynamic macroeconomics. The main models discussed in the context of modern macroeconomics are covered and the methods used in the analysis of dynamic macroeconomic models are presented. The lecture is accompanied by an advanced exercise. Analyses in an open economy with foreign trade and capital movements (monetary foreign trade), dynamic balance of payments and demography, 2-3 country models (integration and globalization).
Qualification goals:
Students
- have in-depth knowledge of dynamic macroeconomic theory and the current state of research in this field,
- master the methods for theoretical and empirical analysis of dynamic macroeconomic models,
- can independently deal with current economic policy issues with the help of macroeconomic theories and make well-founded assessments of economic policy measures.
